X-rays Are Essential For Lower Back Pain Relief

By September 3, 2026No Comments2 min read

Hi, I’m Dr. Danny Park at The Chiro Park. Here’s why you need to take X-rays when your lower back hurts.

The Relationship Between Spinal Alignment and Low Back Pain

When it comes to low back pain, you have to understand there’s a relationship between the alignment of your spine and the pain that we’re feeling.

Now, take a look at this. This is your spine. Imagine this is your low back spine, called the lumbar spine. In between your spine, you have this jelly-like substance called the disc. You also have this nerve that comes out and feeds the soft tissues around your low back, such as your tendons, ligaments, and muscles.

So, there might be tightness, achiness—you name it—throbbing, dull, achy, sharp, or shooting. With all those symptoms, there’s got to be a root cause.

How a Misaligned Spine Affects Your Nerves and Muscles

If your spine is misaligned, which is a condition known as subluxation, that’s the root cause of why your nerve is being stressed, pinched, or inflamed. Your muscles respond to it because they’re connected to each other.

So, your low back pain is directly associated with the alignment of your spine.

Using X-Rays to Find the Cause of Low Back Pain

When it comes to finding the cause of the problem, many health providers and doctors use diagnostic tools such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs.

Today, specifically, X-rays give us critical information, such as the alignment of your spine. Take a look at these images. They show whether you have a deviation or misalignment.

They also provide information about your disc height, how healthy your discs are, how old they are, and whether there is any inflammation or arthritis going on.

That is why we take X-rays—to find the cause of your low back pain.

Would you like to work with a doctor who just guesses when it comes to your health? Of course not.

This was Dr. Danny Park. I will see you in the next video.
